Via the introduction of safe and efficient storage of the alternative fuel of ammonia, NH3CRAFT project aims at tackling the issue of GHGs emissions from the shipping industry, which instead of being healed over time, it is continuously worsened. Shipping industry’s huge carbon footprint is already a reality and elimination of it is necessary.
NH3CRAFT wants to conclude to a safe and efficient storage solution of large quantities of ammonia on board ships. It aims at developing an ammonia centered methodology which will not only reduce the retrofit cost of a candidate ship but also will restrict the complexity of modification and will shorter development times through interconnected digitalized tools. Last but not least, it targets at pushing the implementation of NH3 fuels with new pertinent technical rules and at reducing fleet’s environmental footprint.
