NH3CRAFT at the European Shipping Summit 2025

We are pleased to announce that the NH3CRAFT project was prominently featured at the European Shipping Summit (ESS) 2025. A special thanks to ABS for their support in displaying NH3CRAFT’s initiatives at their booth, as well as in the project leaflet alongside other EU-funded projects

The ESS 2025 was an outstanding success, drawing a diverse audience of EU officials, policymakers, shipowners, ship managers, technology developers, investors, and other key stakeholders from the maritime industry. The summit provided an invaluable opportunity for NH3CRAFT to highlight its role in shaping the future of sustainable shipping.

As we enter the final phase of the NH3CRAFT project, we are on track to achieve our mission of pioneering the safe and efficient use of ammonia as a marine fuel. Our efforts aim to reduce GHG emissions by 50% by 2050 and ultimately eliminate emissions from shipping, aligning with global climate goals set by the Paris Agreement.

Key Highlights of NH3CRAFT’s Impact:

  • The development of innovative ammonia storage systems with the capability of holding 1,000 m³ of ammonia at 10 bar pressure, designed for use on multi-purpose vessels.
  • Conducting detailed techno-economic evaluations that underscore ammonia’s potential as a sustainable and economically viable alternative fuel for maritime transport.
  • Advancing new international standards and regulations for ammonia fuel systems to help drive the growth of Europe’s innovation-driven maritime industry.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to ABS for their continued support and for helping us showcase NH3CRAFT’s contributions to the maritime sector at ESS 2025. As we approach the final stages of the project, we remain committed to advancing the transition toward a greener, more sustainable maritime industry.
