Key regulatory challenges and gaps for adopting NH3 as fuel are identified within NH3CRAFT(Task 9.3), including a review of the regulatory framework. It has already been concluded that strengthening the existing regulatory framework may strategically shape the way forward. In this context, NH3CRAFT will develop proposals for updating of existing and/or development of new class and regulatory requirements. Furthermore, the project outcomes will be presented to various flag administrations and other regulatory bodies, for further consideration towards the development of pertinent statutory regulations on IMO level.
