The aim of the task 2.2 is first to establish boundaries of the data that will be required for the desktop studies and consequently develop templates listing them. The purpose of the developed data templates is to facilitate the design of an ammonia fuelled vessel (retrofit or new build), by providing a list of all the information that would be required.
In a second stage, the sample ships for the desktop studies are identified (bulk carrier, short sea ferry, tanker ship containership, RoPax) and the required data are collected, including drawings, voyage details etc. The maximum capacity of ammonia onboard the sample ships is estimated and an initial conceptual design per desktop study is performed. For the definition of the desktop studies and an initial identification of the ammonia storage tanks onboard each sample ship a workshop will be delivered. Practitioners, technical and regulatory as well as risk assessment experts from the consortium will participate in the workshop.
